The primary purpose of McCleer Power is research and development of electric machines and electronics. Although the research we do is generally tied to building a prototype, we do offer research services for the sake of research itself.

When tied to a prototype to be developed here, the skeletal concept is composed from a combination of past experience, literature, and some imagination. Once the calculations have been done to make sure the idea doesn't violate the laws of physics, a basic design is drawn up.

After coming up with a tentative design, we must then figure out if it is possible to make the required parts, and what kind of time and effort are required for their fabrication.

When we have compiled a list of required hours and materials, we can prepare a quote of time and expense for approval by the customer. In the event a project is not feasible, a proposal will be made with the necessary modifications to ensure its possibility.

Research is an ongoing process, and so oftentimes we will learn a great deal in the production of the first prototype that will guide our way towards making improvements on the design for the future. This new information is manifested in an improvement of the second prototype, or in the form of advise and recommendations to the customer for future designs.
